Cleansing & Motivating Factors

We have officially begun our cleansing portion of our Heal Thyself journey!!!  I do believe each time we gather for the Heal Thyself Collective Circle, it gets better every time!  I know that cleansing and fasting may not be the top of your to-do list or that it may not sound appealing but, I must say that cleansing must begin in the mind.  We must cleanse our thoughts that may approach this journey from a negative or apathetic perspective.  Don’t focus so much on what you will not have or will not do but, focus on this as a clearing processes to remove blockages from your path that may stand in the way of your goals or desires.  This is time to focus on what you want MORE of and how you will now be freed up to have just that!!!  We all have our personal motivations and purposes that drive why we do what we do.  It is advantageous at this point to focus on those motivating factors.  See yourself with the goal already achieved.  See yourself at optimal health and wellness.  See yourself reaching the height of your potential.  I have my own personal motivating factors and I will share one of the latest and greatest of them all:  I am going to AFRIKA!!!  There is a lot of preparation that I must make for my personal body to be strong for the journey and to withstand a new environment.  This makes the cleansing even more relevant to what I need to do with my life and my business.
Search yourself, as we all have that prize to focus on to keep us steadfast.  Imagine our community united, strong, & healthy.  What greatness can we achieve when we reach complete wellness together? I appreciate all who have come together if not for every session but, every session that they could.  Your steadfast approach to wellness and collective healing will pay off.  It already is doing so for a number of us.  I am hearing testimonials already of reduced aches and pains.  I am seeing complexions clearing up.  I am personally seeing a change in how my clothes are fitting me.  There are some powerful things happening and we are not even half-way through the collective journey!

This week we have explored new recipes, tried out new flavors like the plummello fruit that is a relative to the grapefruit and orange.  We even tasted a new variation of raw collard green salad (delicious!).  We also discussed purchasing, storing & using herbs and spices for cleansing and healing purposes.  We discussed so much, I don’t know how to rehash it all in this letter!  Questions were asked and answered, & there were giveaways.   If you missed this week, you will not want to miss another one.  Don’t be shy if you have been away for a while, we see new faces every week.  Contact me and I will assist you so that you can catch up 866-944-9560 ext. 703.

Per request of some of the participants of this past Sunday’s session, I have provided the recipe for the Collard Green Salad that was served for tasting.

Collard Green Salad:  serves 4
½ bunch of collard greens (washed well & sliced thinly or torn into small bite-sized pieces).

It is optional to add shredded carrots, beets, turnips, or herbs like parsley, watercress, a few sprigs of cilantro…to the mix.  Be creative and go for color!  Colorful peppers will do just the trick.

Add about a tbs of minced garlic (2-3 cloves) if you choose.

Drizzle approx 1/3 cup of organic apple cider vinegar.  I do not measure usually but, I am offering rough measurements.  I am usually pretty spot-on when I do add configurations for those who need specific instructions.

Drizzle of approx ¼ cup extra virgin cold pressed olive oil as well.

Add a few tbs of raw agave nectar.  I can see maple syrup being useful in this recipe as well.

Add a tsp of nutritional yeast

A few shakes of Pink Himalayan salt

Add a level tsp of my special seasoning blend of Herb’N Spices with Spirulina, Chlorella, Kelp, parsley, dill, onion, garlic, & other spices.

Mix well & sprinkle a tsp each of chia, flax or even sunflower or pumpkin seeds.  I did an omega-3 rich combo of chia and flax for Sunday’s group.

Serve, eat up and enjoy.  It is even better if you let it sit overnight chilled.

Disclaimer: Don’t hold me to the exact measurements.  I am black and have been cooking since I was a little girl.  I don’t have to measure.  I know how food works and how it tastes.  When you open yourself up to allow your senses to explore the foods that you are to enjoy, then preparing foods will become much more easy and natural for you.

Now is the Time!!!

Greetings Heal Thyself Collective Circle family & those who are interested in cleansing and begining their self-healing journey,

Cleansing is essential for the body to rest and clear out the old to receive the new. If we want effective healing and nutrient absorption, and to jump-start the overall body system, cleansing is the initial step. Those who have been steadfast in the journey with the Heal Thyself Collective Circle, we have prepared our bodies. We know what we need. We have gathered our tools, we even discussed cost-saving measures and local resources. We even had a taste test to know that this is a do-able journey. We actually are just getting started. Please keep the momentum going and this journey. YOU CAN DO IT! I believe in you. Tap into your source and remember your purpose and motivation. I have my own personal motivation that has given me new strength and reasons why this part of the journey is important to me as well. I will share the good news with you on Sunday. It is HUGE!!!

Ok. No more procrastination or excuses! It is time to step forward Collectively and begin the fasting and cleansing portion of this journey. Come Sunday prepared to work! I will have some giveaways and we will open ourselves to true healing and actively prepare a few tonics, juice and more. We will be at Serenity Suites AT Noda 2pm-4pm. I look forward to seeing you there! 866-944-9560 ext. 703

Introducing The Herb'N Garden Collective

You are personally invited to become a member of the Herb’N Garden Collective where, “Together We Grow!!!”  Our aim as the Collective is to support growers in every environment by providing mentorship, education, consultations, seed & plant trading.  In addition it is important to explore the art and science of pickling, canning, drying, seed saving/storage, composting, & various propagation methods.  Food and gas prices are consistently rising.  Each day we find more about our food supply that negatively impacts our health and wellbeing.  Food security and our health is becoming a growing concern in our communities and households.  It is time that we become proactive in this experience that we call life.   Together we are planting seeds for our sustainable future!
Even though it is still winter, it will soon be spring and we should be enjoying fresh produce that we have grown by then.  Now is the time.  Membership dues are $20 month or $10 to sit-in each session.  If you have any questions or need more details please contact Aura Agape 866-944-9560 ext# 703.  There is much to share that I hope will be of inspiration.  I hope to see you then.

Heal Thyself Collect Circle gets a break this Sunday due to the Superbowl

What can I say?  Not being an avid football fan, I have been out of touch with the football schedule or the importance of such events, even if they take place in the evening.

After much consideration, since it is Super Bowl Sunday, I have decided to cancel this Sunday's gathering.  We will resume the following Sunday, 2/11/12 at 2pm-4pm. Originally, this was supposed to be the beginning of our cleansing/fasting process.  We should already have begun increasing our raw fruits, and vegetable consumption, along with whole grains, herbal tonics & especially water.  Also we have discussed other cleansing methods such as the Kidney Liver Flush (recipe available in Heal Thyself), various juicing combinations, baths, enemas, saunas, deep breathing exercises, etc...This is the time to dust off raw food cookbooks or search the net.  There is a wealth of information available.  I am still extending the offers from last week including shopping and food preparation assistance.  The support and the journey continues even during Super Bowl.  I hope that you enjoy the festivities without succumbing to the temptations to pollute your body.  There are always going to be a challenges and special occasions that will make the journey difficult.  I suggest that you prepare healthful, hearty and tasteful dishes that all can enjoy and the reward is for those who are steadfast in their purpose.

I will share my recipe of avocado dip that I alternate between using tomatoes or mangos.

2 avocados
1 tomato or small mango
1/2  sm red onion or 2 stalks of green onion
1/2 tsp minced garlic
organic apple cider vinegar
extra virgin olive oil
Pink Himalayan Crystal Salt
dill weed
parsley

Cut avocados in half and remove seed.  I slice the avocados cross-ways and scoop out the avocado which makes cubes.  I peel and cut the mango on both side of the large flat seed and slice crossways and add to the bowl of avocado.  Dice up 1/2 small red onion or chop up green spring onion.  Add approx 1/2 tsp of minced garlic or 1-2 cloves finely chopped.  This is the part where I really do not measure.  I add a splash or 2 (according to taste) of organic apple cider vinegar and about 2 tbs of olive oil.  Then I add the dill weed, parsley, and pink himalayan crystal salt to taste.  Mix and enjoy.  This goes well with raw veggies (carrot sticks, celery, broccoli florets, etc...) whole grain tortilla chips or pita wedges.

Additionally, Juliette Chambers has offered her delicious Kale Salad recipe
1 bunch of Kale washed thoroughly and chopped thin
1-2 grated carrots grated
1 medium beet grated
2-3 radishes grated
2-3 sprigs of cilantro chopped
add apple cider vinegar, olive oil, seasonings such as Herb'N Spice (original blend), pink himalayan crystal salt, or spike's.  Mix and enjoy.  This is a dish that actually gets better as it sets for a while.

Please enjoy a safe and healthy weekend.  Call me for assistance or scheduling appointments             866-944-9560       ext# 703.
